Australia boosts trade credit cover

SYDNEY, Australia - Australia's federal government-owned Export Finance & Insurance Corp. is continuing to provide trade credit insurance to Australian exporters trading in Indonesia, despite the difficult economic conditions and recent political upheaval.

Australia's industry minister, John Moore, announced recently that the government would extend until September extra funding through EFIC for credit insurance on a case-by-case basis for Australian companies exporting to Indonesia. In February, when the Indonesian rupiah began to decline in value, the government agreed to provide short-term trade credit insurance funding for Australian exporters.
