Remote access: prepaid Internet access growing.(BCR Access)

The market for prepaid Internet access grew by 67 percent last year, and will grow at a compound rate of 45 percent through 2007, according to In-Stat/MDR. A key driver will be the entrance of AOL and Verizon into the market.

Such services are particularly appealing to businesses, who buy the service for employees that work via broadband Internet access at home and need low-cost dialup access when traveling, In-Stat reported. Companies in manufacturing and education/government were the biggest users of prepaid Internet.
